I found the first part of this series documenting the fight at Standing Rock against the Dakota Access Pipeline to be very powerful. The videography, the music, the landscapes, but mostly the people were really captivating and shed so much important light on this controversial topic. It was heartbreaking to see this pure fight for water and land continuously fail against a project derived from greed that will cause so much harm. One of the things that really struck me was the young girl who was talking about not being safe in her own town because of oil workers- how young girls can get picked up, stolen, raped, or sold. I also found Bobbi Jean very inspiring, especially her cry for help at the end. Something I took from this film is that the youth has so much power, and I hope we are successful in fighting to make major changes for the better.
